Britton Photography is a Favorite Place on Google

Not too long ago an envelope from Google appeared in our mailbox. Inside it was a letter and a window decal — we’re one of the businesses named a Google Favorite Place!

If we’ve done your photos or an event you attended, please take a moment to add a review for us. You can do so at our Google Local Business Listing. It’s always helpful to have more!

Sweat the Details

You’ve got the dress, the shoes, and the rings, so what’s left? The details. The details of your wedding aren’t the biggest part or even the most expensive part, but they add so much polish to the whole thing that we think they’re important to attend to. Between the flowers, the altar, party favors, table decor, food layouts, and all of the other details, the whole event just seems more “complete”. It’s definitely noticeable in the photos, no matter how subtle! So, if you’re looking for any inspiration or ideas to fill out the details in your wedding, read on to see some of the detail photos from our weddings past.

Arches

Arches and arbors have been popular ways of decorating the altar area. We’ve seen them work very well with both the greens of Spring weddings and more earthy tones of Fall weddings. These can often be rented from the various event rental places in the area, such as T&R Party Rentals or Sun Rental.

Sunset and Sean purchased the wood base for this and then decorated it with the fall stuff from Michael’s.

This one is standard at Beacon Hill.

This one is standard at A Touch of Country.

Flowers

In our experience, flowers are the most noticeable detail you can invest in for your wedding. They add a splash of color to place settings and provide an important piece to the overall appearance of everything. Heat can be a very important factor to consider when choosing these though — certain flowers do not last long at all when it’s very hot out!

Table centers

For those wanting non-floral table centers, there are some options that we’ve seen work very well.

Tents

Summer weddings can be hot. Really hot. It’s these ones where, if you have an outdoor venue, that a large tent-covered area becomes very welcome. These tents are often very open and airy, and we’ve seen them both with the entire reception (dance floor and all) under it and with just the tables.

The ceremony and reception took place almost entirely under the tent. The sand portion was the only piece that took place in the open air.

Their dining area was set up under the tent. The ceremony and the rest of the reception all took place out in the open. This particular tent was from Lake City Rental.

Party favors

We’ve seen party favors of all varieties, from chocolates and jams to Jelly Bellys and bubbles. They’re those little gifts the couple gives to each guest in return for attending their wedding. It’s a detail that’s not that decorative in itself but adds to the overall whole of where it’s placed, often at the table settings.

Place cards

Guest Books

There are a wide variety of guest book options available — everything from the flush-mount ones we offer to those custom-made by the couple.

Signs

Some have even opted to make custom signs for the wedding!

Cakes

The cake itself is less important than the overall presentation of it. Even the most extravagant cake will suffer if it’s not placed well, so the decor on the cake table is something to consider. Event venues will typically provide only a standard white-clothed table for it (and possibly a stand), so doing something even as simple as adding a splash of your wedding’s colors will go a long way. One of the more popular ideas we’ve seen recently has been to have a main cake accompanied by candy jars for the kids, smaller cakes squares, and various other sweets.

Flower girls

The bride placed a bag of gummy worms at the bottom of the pail for each flower girl here to keep them occupied during the ceremony.

Ring bearers

Family lost

With many weddings, there has been family lost that you’d still like to recognize in some way. We’ve seen many different ways of doing this, so if you’re stuck trying to think of an idea how to do it, here are a few for inspiration.
